ARTIST IN RESIDENCE APPLICATION

• Open to Ohio Art Students/Recent Art Grads or recent students

The Lancaster Festival (Lancaster, Ohio) since 1984 has been providing art and music events and opportunities for musicians and artists to present their works to the tens of thousands of visitors who come here each year. This year’s Festival is again offering the Artist in Residence program, whereby art students and recent graduates who reside in Ohio or who attend an Ohio school are eligible. A local jury will review submitted works to select the winner to become an ‘Artist in Residence’ for the Festival this year, which runs July 18-25.

The successful candidate is invited to this year’s Festival experience and to create works to be exhibited at the following year’s Festival. The award includes admission to all Festival events and lodging in Lancaster. It provides the recipient with an opportunity to meet and develop relationships with others in the art community. After the Festival, the recipient will create finished art work to be displayed at this year’s festival and then two pieces would become a part of the Festival’s permanent collection. One half of the cash award is paid up front and the other half in the following year.
